This Privacy Policy explains how CUBE (“the App,” “we,” “us”) handles information when you download and play the App. CUBE is developed by Filip Melka (“the Developer”).
We built CUBE to be a simple, self-contained game. We do not require you to create an account, and we do not ask you for your name, email address, or any other personal contact information to play. This policy describes the limited data that is collected by the App itself and by the third-party services it uses (advertising and Apple Game Center).
Information We Collect
Information stored only on your device
CUBE keeps track of your best score and saves it in a local file on your device (using Godot’s standard local save system). This data:
- never leaves your device
- is not transmitted to us or to any third party
- is not linked to your identity in any way
- can be erased at any time by deleting the App
Information collected by third-party services
CUBE uses two third-party services to provide advertising and leaderboard functionality. These services may collect information as described below. We do not control how these third parties process data beyond configuring them as described here, and we encourage you to review their own privacy policies.
Google AdMob (advertising). CUBE shows occasional interstitial (full-screen) ads between game-over screens, served through Google’s AdMob network. To serve and measure these ads, Google and its advertising partners may automatically collect technical information such as your device’s advertising identifier, IP address, general device information, and ad interaction data (for example, which ads were shown or clicked). CUBE is configured to serve ads without using Apple’s App Tracking Transparency framework and without linking ad data to your identity across other companies’ apps and websites for tracking purposes; ad measurement instead relies on Apple’s SKAdNetwork, a privacy-preserving attribution framework built into iOS. Google’s use of this information is governed by Google’s own privacy policy, available at https://policies.google.com/privacy, and by Google’s “How Google uses information from sites or apps that use our services,” available at https://policies.google.com/technologies/partner-sites.
Apple Game Center (leaderboards). If you choose to sign in to Game Center on your device, CUBE will submit your best score to a global leaderboard and display your Game Center nickname, avatar, and rank within the App. This sign-in and all associated data (your Game Center identity, scores, and rank) is handled directly by Apple through GameKit; we do not receive, store, or have access to this information ourselves. Game Center is entirely optional — you can play CUBE without signing in, in which case no leaderboard data is submitted. Apple’s handling of Game Center data is governed by Apple’s privacy policy, available at https://www.apple.com/legal/privacy/.
Information we do not collect
CUBE does not collect your name, email address, phone number, physical address, photos, contacts, precise or coarse location, health or fitness data, or financial or payment information. The App does not include chat, messaging, or any other feature that would let you or others submit personal content.
How Information Is Used
The limited information described above is used only to: display advertising and measure ad performance (by Google AdMob), operate leaderboard and score-tracking features (by Apple Game Center), and remember your best score locally so it persists between play sessions. We do not use any information to build advertising profiles ourselves, and we do not sell information to third parties.
Children’s Privacy
CUBE is not directed at children under the age of 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children. Because the App serves advertising through Google AdMob, if you believe CUBE has been accessed by a child and you have concerns about data collected through the advertising or Game Center services described above, please contact us using the details below so we can look into it, and consider using your device’s parental controls to restrict ad tracking and Game Center access for a child’s account.
Your Choices
You can limit ad-related data collection at the operating-system level through your device settings, for example by resetting or limiting your device’s advertising identifier under Settings > Privacy & Security. You can also sign out of Game Center at any time through Settings > Game Center, which will stop the App from submitting scores or displaying your Game Center identity. Uninstalling the App removes your locally saved best score.
Data Retention
Your locally saved best score remains on your device until you delete the App or clear its data. We do not retain any server-side data because CUBE does not operate a backend server or database. Retention of any data collected by Google AdMob or Apple Game Center is governed by those companies’ own policies, linked above.
Your Rights (GDPR, CCPA, and similar laws)
Depending on where you live, you may have rights regarding personal information collected about you, such as the right to access, correct, delete, or object to the processing of that information. Because CUBE itself does not collect or store personal information linked to your identity, most such requests concerning advertising or Game Center data should be directed to Google or Apple respectively, using the contact channels in their privacy policies linked above. You’re welcome to also contact us and we will assist where we can.
International Data Transfers
Google and Apple operate services globally, which means information they process (as described above) may be transferred to and processed in countries other than your own, including the United States. Those transfers are governed by Google’s and Apple’s own privacy policies and safeguards.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time, for example to reflect changes in the App’s features or in applicable law. Any changes will be posted at this same location with an updated “Last updated” date. We encourage you to review this policy periodically.
